how we work
VAN TRICHT's pieces are refined until the form has reached a timeless clarity. My designs originat from the dialogue between body and clothing. Creating "humane clothing" is what drives me.
Instead of following the fast-changing rhythm of fashion, I work independently from the fashion seasons. The pieces remain in the program for years and are constantly developed further. The collections is produced in small quantities or made-to-order. This gives me the space to keep trying out new things.
materials
I am committed to the good stuff: Raw denims from Japan, woven on old shuttle looms. Buttons made of natural materials such as corozo, horn or mother of pearl. Metal zippers made with Swiss precision. Fabrics dyed with oak bark. A shirt made of rare, naturally colored cotton...
I consciously avoid synthetic linings. Working without lining requires the greatest care and precision. Nothing is hidden. This allows the architecture of the clothing to be shown off to its best advantage. The construction itself becomes a decoration.
Values
VAN TRICHT shows great respect for craftsmanship in all phases of production. I select everyone involved carefully and am always looking for something special and down-to-earth at the same time.
The sewing workshop in Bavaria, the knitting factories in the Netherlands and Belgium, the weaving mill and the button factory in Baden-Württemberg, the pattern makers in Hamburg, the dyeing factory for plant based color in Switzerland...
I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to do all this alone. It's the collaborative work and the exchange with experts in their fields that gives me great joy.
