Taru jacket
Short and crisp, that is the Taru jacket. It has the characteristic round shoulder yoke and slim raglan sleeves. When worn open, the collar looks elegant, closed it is reminiscent of a biker jacket. Two folds at the back emphasize the back and create freedom of movement. The straps on the sleeves are lined in contrasting ecru, matching the color of the corozo buttons.
There is a small inside pocket, for example for some change, which can be closed with a button. The high-quality metal zipper is from Riri.
Taru is produced with great care in small editions in a sewing factory in Bavaria.
Outer fabric: Taru is made from Japanese yarn-dyed twill. The material is woven on old, narrow looms in a width of 116 cm and is given the typically sought-after "selvedge", the closed selvedge. The fabric is light in weight and takes on an individual look over time and through wear.
Since experience has shown that the lining is often the first to break, I have largely dispensed with it. The jacket is designed in such a way that the open finish also looks good on the inside. This requires a high degree of precision in production.
Only for the yoke and as a contrasting color on the sleeve tabs is an unbleached cotton twill used, IVN Best certified by the weaving mill Elmer and Zweifel.
The buttons are made from the natural material corozo and are uncolored. This means that the color varies slightly. They are characterized by their fine grain.
The fruit of the corozo palm is also known as vegetable ivory. The corozo comes from South America and grows on the corozo palm in the low-lying rainforests of Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Panama.
Close the zipper and hand wash inside out in cold water. The washing machine can cause creases. At temperatures above 30 degrees the material can shrink by up to 3%.
